The Canberra Chess Challenge 8 had 53 players competing, including two players back in Canberra from Hobart.
It was a tough fought competition amoungst our top players which saw two players end ties for first on 7/8. One of these players, Ben Lester, was very excited and was intervied by one of our arbiters, Julius, before he learned that he placed second on tiebreak. His interview will shortly be available on our facebook page. Please visit us by clicking here to view it. Well done to Dexuan Kong who achieved first place ahead of Ben.
We also had 5 players tied equal for 3rd place. The two who missed out on the top five trophies took away the top 9 year old and top girl trophies.
