Telopea Park Junior Chess Club (On-Hold)

What happens at the chess club:

The Telopea Park Junior Chess Club is for Junior chess players of all levels (Beginners to Advanced). Each week we run a lesson that is appropriate to the skill level of the children that we have attending.  Beginners will learn how to play and all of the rules of chess, progressing to learn some basic checkmates and strategies later on. Intermediate and Advanced players will learn about opening theories, tactics, strategies and endgames improving their game and expanding the calculation skills and foresight that they have already been developing.  Students will take part in a weekly competition as part of the session, with prizes awarded to the highest scorers at the end of each term.

Workbooks are also available to aid your child’s development and for extra practice at home. For more information on our Workbooks, please click here.
